THE PEOPLE WERE THE GAME LOOP
Gilli says the quiet part out loud in 2020: "I like Raja because of Underlords lol."
Two years later Aeshleen says Raja is over for her. Gilli does not argue for the game, the dailies, the roster, or some heroic comeback arc. She answers the membership question instead: "you're still an Underlord". The useful part is the tiny word still. Same house, no game required.
Two years apart, the instinct is the same: Gilli keeps treating the people as the part worth routing toward.
Ren's joke family map files Gilli as "my big sister". At the front door, Gilli points a newcomer toward Whiskey and D.I. immediately tells them "Dont listen to her...RUN". Gilli answers "w/punch @D.I." and Waifu logs the assault before the welcome has had time to cool. Later the glamour screenshot gets sent back if the evidence is cropped; the morning QOTD comes with a reminder to eat and smile; New Year's resolution is apparently make at least one more friend.
The mature safety packet matters as house history, but it is shared copy, not a Gilli personality monologue. Her person-shaped version is what happens around the procedure: give the direction, get heckled, hit the heckler in bot syntax, keep the building moving.
SHE DOESN'T HAND YOU A MAP. SHE TELLS YOU WHERE EVERYONE IS.
Gilli's front-door habit is more social than "roles assigned, read the rules" makes it sound. In April 2020, newcomers keep getting the useful version of the building from her: not only which doors exist, but which one is alive right now. For Nia, she distinguishes Fight Club voice chat from VIP Lounge text instead of treating "go hang out" as sufficient directions. The newcomer is not being handed architecture; they are being handed a choice of where the people currently are.
The same reflex survives into 2021. Ice Man Cree arrives, Gilli handles the welcome and role setup, points through the tour and rules, then adds that Theatre has three films playing today. That last little advertisement is what makes the scene feel like Gilli. The procedural job could have ended after access. Instead she keeps going until the new person has somewhere to actually land.
That is the social-switchboard version of her competence. A room name is not useful merely because it exists. Gilli keeps translating the server into voice over here, text over there, movie night happening now, main chat this way. It is one reason her later rules, prizes, reminders, themes, and QOTDs do not read like separate résumés: she has a recurring instinct to connect structure back to human activity.
There is care hiding inside the efficiency. Joining a large Discord can make a person feel like they have been issued seventeen keys and abandoned in a hallway. Gilli's answer is basically: *yes, yes, here are the keys; also everybody is yelling in that room*. Bureaucracy, but with a lit exit sign pointing toward the clowns.
THE CARETAKER GETS WATERED TOO.
Most of Gilli's care is visible because she is the one doing it. Daycare catches the reverse. ChaoticAsra tells her to hydrate; Gilli answers "Pours water on head", then "I AM GROUNDED". She does not protect the caretaker image by pretending she is above the reminder. She accepts the care, turns compliance into slapstick, and somehow converts drinking water into disciplinary procedure.
A few months later Zu gets "thank you platelet. We feed the platelets, and the platelets water us ". The phrasing is small but revealing. Gilli does not make usefulness a one-way role where she feeds, routes, reminds and everybody else receives. Care can come straight back across the room, and she is comfortable enough to take it without turning the exchange into debt, ceremony or a speech about being cared for.
She is also completely aware of what kind of public record results when that practical streak shares a body with the rest of her. To Zoshaa: "but tbf, i am gilli", "i say weird shit alot", "that is basically public record at this point XD". There is no defense brief. The caretaker and the chaos gremlin are not rival versions of Gilli waiting to be reconciled. She knows the file is catastrophic. She has accepted the findings.
THE CAMERA ROLL IS ALSO AN EVIDENCE LOCKER
May 2020. Gilli is apparently trying to complete the very advanced task of going downstairs. Instead: "Okay going downstairs now lol was looking at old pics and got distracted".
A year later she walks into the Wall with "Was looking through my photos and found this gem", drops a screenshot ten seconds later, then tags NintendoShitcube. We do not need to invent what is inside the image to see the recurring offense. Gilli keeps opening the camera roll and resurfacing with prequels.
This is not Ren-style municipal quote bureaucracy. Gilli's method is much less civilized: get distracted by old evidence, recover holding something, put it where the clowns can see it. The woman who will reject your glamour screenshot for noncompliance also appears to maintain an accidental evidence locker in her phone. Chain of custody: lol look what I found.
ONE GOOD BIT? FINE. NOW GIVE IT SEASONS.
There is a creative version of the same instinct. In 2021 Gilli closes COLORS with "Results and next theme" already scheduled. Two years later Ren throws out the blank-canvas idea, Mia turns it into an everybody-doodle file, and Gilli's immediate response to one successful poster is "We need to do these more often" — specifically, "With themes!". Mia says yes and part two arrives with bananas.
That does not make Gilli the art director. It makes her extremely legible next to this cast: Ren throws the premise, Mia opens the file, and Gilli sees a one-off success and starts trying to turn it into a recurring house bit.
The UI can tell you she is Senior Advisor. The person is the one who sees a successful banana poster and immediately starts wondering what season two looks like.
THE FAMILY TREE ESCAPED INTO HER PROFILE
By April 2023 Gilli's Discord profile has become an archaeological site by itself.
The display name is "Gabu's Non-existent inches", which takes the long-running Gilli/Gabu height war and promotes it from chat into identity metadata. The About Me opens with "Mug's Husbando", then "INTJ", then produces something that sounds like a resource-management system designed during a fever: "~Emotional Support Collection~".
Pebble. Apple. Empress. Pond. Tree. Jewel. Pie. Pizza Dough. Pillow. Fire.
None of those labels need to become literal relationships to matter. The better part is that the joke refuses to stay inside Gilli's own profile. The same period preserves display names such as "Gilli's Pebble", "Gilli's Apple", "Gilli's Tsun Tree", "Gilli's Pie", and "Gilli's Twin". People are carrying relationship jokes in the member list itself.
That makes the old UL family Tumbleweed look less like one deranged diagram and more like an early manifestation of a durable habit. UL keeps taking social relationships—real, invented, affectionate, ridiculous, or some mixture thereof—and making them legible infrastructure. Sometimes the infrastructure is a PNG. Sometimes it is a Discord nickname. Sometimes it is an About Me section that looks like a Pokémon storage box for emotional support humans.
The family tree did not stay on the wall. It escaped into the usernames.
