Snow's first surviving Slice message on April 13, 2020 says the room is for pictures, updates, and helping members `get to know each other outside of game`, while warning against sharing location or personal information.
SLICE OF LIFE
Snow built an outside-the-game room one month in. everybody immediately made it everybody's problem.
OUTSIDE THE GAME.
Food. Work. Weather. Dogs. Weddings. Motorcycles. Haircuts. The ordinary-life room keeps widening the definition of who everybody is.
SNOW BUILT THE OFF-RAMP ONE MONTH IN
THE PRIVACY POLICY ARRIVED BEFORE THE SELFIES
FOUR HOURS LATER: PIN THE FACES SO WE DON'T LOSE THEM
BY MIDNIGHT IT IS AN ANXIETY SUPPORT GROUP
The first day does not even stay about photographs. Late that night, a member says pandemic anxiety is keeping her awake and she is scared for her family. Another member talks with her, asks what usually calms her down, and stays in the conversation until she says the distraction helped. Hours after "post your pics", the room is already doing the other half of "keep us up to date": people are showing what life feels like, not only what it looks like.
THE CHANNEL HAD A JOB, ACTUALLY
MINORS ARE A NO-FLY ZONE. THIS PART WAS NOT A BIT.
SELFIES + HOUSE TOURS = "SOUNDS LIKE A USUAL DAY TO ME"
By October 2020, a member returns after two days and asks why everybody is suddenly posting selfies and house-tour pictures. Anthos replies: "sounds like a usual day to me." That is the domestication point in one line. What began as a new IRL experiment has become ambient behavior. A face, a room, a haircut, a pet, or whatever is happening around you does not need an event anymore.
THE WEDDING GOT A BUILD LOG
"A SMALL SLICE OF JAPAN FOR EVERYONE"
SLICE OF LIFE BECOMES SLICE OF STRESS
The room also learns quickly that real life is not all food and sunsets. During one October spiral somebody declares, "This aint slice of life no mo its stress of life." Another member immediately answers: "Slice of stress." Correct. Work complaints, health scares, bad weather, broken objects, anxiety, exhaustion, cooking disasters, and ordinary inconvenience all belong here because they are still life.
THE BACK CATALOG WAS REAL. WE DO NOT NEED TO GUESS FROM FILENAMES ANYMORE.
"MY LIFE IS TOO BORING TO SHARE, BUT HERE IS MY CAT SITTING IN A WEIRD POSE."
THE GAME NEVER HAD TO CARRY THEM BY ITSELF
SOURCE NOTES 11
On opening day Snow also says photo sharing is optional (`only if you want`; `we dont pressure here`), confirms the page is Club Only, and pins member pictures `so we dont lose our pics`.
On April 27, 2020, Mugen writes `everyone is impulsive but minors are a no fly zone pls` in Slice. This is the exact currently surfaced minor-safety receipt and is separate from Snow's April 13 opening consent/privacy sequence.
Do not backdate this line to opening day or merge it with unreacquired wording.
Mugen, Gilli, Ren, and Snow repeatedly brief newcomers that Slice is for IRL / real-life pictures and updates while warning them not to expose personal information or location.
Slice maintained a recognizable topical boundary: Mugen and Snow redirected meme dumping toward Meme Wars, even though GIF reactions and other borrowed media were part of ordinary conversation from the first day.
By October 2020, after someone remarks that everybody is posting selfies and house-tour pictures, Anthos replies `sounds like a usual day to me`.
ShiyaX repeatedly posts wedding/event work as work-in-progress rather than a single occupation statement: surviving captions include `wedding shyt`, `Very smol wedding haps`, progress/finish language, and teardown language.
This confirms a repeated work-diary practice and some attachment provenance. It does not license assigning every visually similar unidentified venue artifact to ShiyaX without attachment-level matching.
Hishiro posts `A small slice of Japan for everyone` with an attached image on October 18, 2020.
Han writes `My life is too boring to share, but here is my cat sitting in a weird pose` on September 12, 2021, followed in later posts by ordinary office, coffee, food, weather, clothing, and pet updates.
The recovered transcript contains 31,875 messages from April 13, 2020 through December 30, 2021, with 3,866 direct attachments and 1,618 embeds; messages appear on 601 of the 627 calendar days in the covered span.
Counts are provenance/context only, not a ranking of member importance. The pooled Deleted User account also prevents clean person-level counting for all participants.
Earlier interpretations that treated split-volume order (for example the late MP4/GIF or Snapchat-heavy disks) as channel chronology are corrected: GIF reactions appear on the opening day, screenshots appear on the opening day, and Snapchat-named attachments appear by April 25, 2020.
Split ZIP file order is media-recovery order, not safe social chronology.
The current supplied Slice archive is now recovered to its physical forward end. The 2020β2021 transcript remains recovered from z81: 31,875 messages from 2020-04-13 through 2021-12-30; z51 remains that period's one known media hole. The 2022β2023 transcript is recovered from z151: 10,295 messages from 2022-01-01 through 2023-12-29, and its media directory ends explicitly in z152. The 2024β2026 transcript is recovered from the final `6 slice.zip` segment at local-header offset 28,018,605: `Underlords - π UnderLords (Club Only) - π°ο½slice-of-life [699284953023643690].json`, CRC `e76bfb13`, 3,002,097 uncompressed bytes, SHA-256 `c4d5905d521ee644c1fe566143744fa3fbb8b1b65bfc59b68b2195591bb44d77`. It contains 1,116 messages from 2024-01-01 through 2026-07-09, with 311 direct attachments, 78 embeds, 5 stickers, and 275 replies. The contraction is real rather than interpretive theater: 978 messages occur in 2024, 120 in 2025, and 18 on only four active dates in 2026. Yet those final uses remain recognizably Slice β rescue kittens, food, camping and stars, family milestones, and Anglie's graduation. The final surviving messages on 2026-07-09 are Sye's `memory lasp`, `give yall all *pats*`, and `:catpat:`. The final ZIP central directory declares 159 disks total and 14,153 ZIP entries; its three Slice directories contain 8,634 nonempty 2020β2021 entries, 4,769 nonempty 2022β2023 entries, and 746 nonempty 2024β2026 entries. All 746 files in the 2024β2026 directory validate by CRC and uncompressed size. The archive now has a hard physical end rather than a provisional recovery boundary. Discord timestamps own social chronology; split-volume order and source filenames remain provenance only.
