Recurring work, rituals, social maintenance, and jobs nobody remembers authorizing.
Posters, callbacks, communal art, and deliberate self-mythology.
The original machinery matters less. The people and habits keep moving without it.
The infrastructure fades, the relationships persist, and then everybody comes back like nothing happened.
