REAL LIFE
FIRST.
Before it was `UL Code 2`, it was something Mugen said to one person. Then Snow put it in Club Conduct. Then people in Slice started saying it like nobody needed to cite the damn document.
THE RULE STARTS SMALL.
Mugen answers a member taking time away with the priority already stated cleanly: real life and health first, always.
The other member's private circumstances do not need to become public lore. The surviving sentence does the cultural work by itself.
Two months later Snow puts the same operating principle into the plain Club Conduct draft. Time away for real life is explicitly not grounds for removal. The next instruction is to balance the game with family, friends, and actual sunlight.
THEN THE RULE STOPS NEEDING A RULEBOOK.
January: Anayss tells Roti `Real life always first Roti!`. June: Daya catches somebody trying to fit college around Dragon Raja scheduling and opens with `dont stress` before landing `prioritize school, real life always first`.
That is the mutation. Nobody says `UL Code 2`. Nobody cites Snow. The line has left the document and become ordinary peer advice. Anayss uses an exclamation point; Daya lowers the pressure first. Different voices, same priority order. The game gets second pick.
CARE BECOMES CODE.
CODE BECOMES INSTINCT.
The earliest exact wording currently surfaced is personal reassurance. August gives it administrative teeth. Slice then catches two different people using the same priority without invoking the paperwork. By October 2023 Mugen can call it `UL Code 2` while changing how Dragon Raja events are opened.
THE GAME JOB MOVES.
THE PERSON DOESN'T HAVE TO BREAK.
Mugen has less free time after changing work positions, so the Dragon Raja president role becomes a hot potato between officers for event opening. She says she is still around and names the reason for the operational change: `UL Code 2: Real life first always.`
This is not a resignation from UL leadership. It is the house choosing the event schedule around a person's life instead of asking the person to flatten their life around the game.
THE ABSENCE IS ALLOWED.
THE TIMER LOSES.
The exact phrases change because the situations change: take the time you need; real life takes priority; real life always first; do not stress about the game while school is happening; rotate the in-game president so events still open. The stable part is the priority order.
The 2022 Slice receipts matter because they remove the need for a direct drafting chain. Anayss and Daya do not have to quote Mugen or Snow for the principle to be alive. By then it can travel person to person in plain speech. The fake government wrote it down; the group chat learned it by heart.
source boundary
Earliest surviving is not origin. June 5, 2020 is the earliest exact `real life ... first` wording currently surfaced in the processed primary archive. It is Mugen's message. Snow's August 7 Club Conduct is a later formalized expression of the same priority.
Anayss's January 26, 2022 Slice message is exact directly re-parsed message `936034213759701002` at 15:05 PST. `Roti` is preserved as the addressee label from that message; this page does not resolve the name further or backdate Anayss's current Underboss / Battle Leader titles.
Daya's June 23, 2022 Slice message is exact directly re-parsed message `989573137303732325`. It proves the advice Daya gives in that scene; it does not make her the author of `REAL LIFE FIRST` as a house rule.
`UL Code 2` is archive-confirmed in Mugen's October 17, 2023 announcement. The archive does not currently establish when the code number was invented, whether a numbered Code 2 existed continuously from 2020, or a direct textual drafting chain between every surviving statement. The 2022 Slice recurrence is evidence of portability, not proof of copying.
