Snow's August 2020 JAG draft contains 24 'Yeeting charges' and explicitly states that UL is 'in no way a military organization.'
RUNNING BITS
repeat offenses. inside jokes with pension plans. somehow the emote is grammar now.
THE STRIPCLUB IS A PARASITE. EVERY SETTING BECOMES THE STRIPCLUB.
The house starts early with an "Underlords Stripclub Bouncer" greeting people at the Lobby door. Years later the metaphor is still eating whatever profession wanders into Whiskey. Kiro says the nursing society takes care of elderly people; seconds later Mugen tells him to shake his booty around the IV pole and he answers with medication delivery while sliding down it. This is the recurring mechanic: introduce respectable scenery, wait approximately thirty seconds, discover it was a stripclub set all along.
PLATELETS DO NOT GRADUATE. BIOLOGY HAS LOST CONTROL OF THE SITUATION.
The joke has an actual genealogy: Jailbait is the visible under-18 marker, March 2021 re-skins it as Platelet through Cells at Work!, and then the members themselves refuse to let adulthood kill the label. Ren begs not to lose it; Gilli promises "You'll be platelet forever". In 2026 Moon refuses to believe the Platelets graduated, DyingFox says "I never age" and "Forever platelet", and Mugen answers "@Platelet forevee". Safety role β Cells at Work! joke β permanent species. Nobody planned this responsibly.
THE WALL IS A COURTROOM AND EVERYBODY IS REPRESENTING THEMSELVES BADLY.
Dean first asks whether the Wall is where people get exposed; months later he is asking "WhY U expOse Me". Rummy develops a recurring defense strategy: "bro u need hte context", "THAT WASN'T JUST A RANDOM THINIG", "THAT NOT THE FULL CONVO", and eventually "ansun (he my lawyer now-jk)". Tofu brings chain-of-custody energy. Mia's editorial test is much shorter: "It funny". Screenshot jail keeps turning ordinary embarrassment into charges, exhibits, appeals and catastrophic self-representation.
FAT_WHEEZE IS NOT AN EMOTE ANYMORE. IT IS PUNCTUATION.
The Meems archive catches "Fat_Wheeze" functioning inline, as reaction, as reply, as verdict and occasionally as the entire available language. In the complete surviving Meems corpus it appears hundreds of times in message text and on hundreds of reacted-to posts. The important part is not the count. The important part is grammaticalization by clown behavior: disbelief, laughter, accusation, agreement and "I have no sentence for this" all collapse into the same face.
THE INTERNET KEEPS ACCIDENTALLY FILMING UNDERLORDS.
A random clip does not stay random for long. "UL Mafia but we make it cute." "The police department when they enter UL territory." "Itβs the UL stripclub dancing to make a distraction for a mission." The recurring meme grammar is brutally simple: find unrelated internet media, cast everybody in it as UL, send it back to the group as documentary footage. Once the ensemble is legible enough, apparently the entire internet becomes B-roll.
WHO THE FUCK IS THIS ACCOUNT.
Identity lookup is part of the comedy. Gilli: "WHOM IS BEANSPROUT" β "DEAN?" Dean: "YES". Daya asks whether HicUUOOOOGH is Kiro; Kiro answers "Who's kiro"; Momo immediately ruins the defense. Key and Alkey get jointly announced as the "Key twins" precisely because they are two different people. Aliases are not merely archive metadata here. The cast keeps changing nametags until recognition itself becomes a running joke.
EVERYBODY IS DEAD UNTIL SOMEBODY RINGS THE DINNER BELL.
Late UL develops suspiciously consistent afterlife vocabulary. Richard's Corpse already lives in the room names; then the reunion era gives us "de corpses are aliiive", "The nostalgia", "Love seeing this server active again", Mugen saying "U just gotta ring the dinner bell", and Rummy proposing "Reanimate the whole server fr". Inactivity becomes death; returning becomes necromancy; apparently the community has respawn mechanics.
SENTIMENTALITY IS A JUMPSCARE.
Mugen tries the dangerous sentence "It's been a while." The room reacts badly enough that she immediately has to yell "OK WHY ARE YALL SCARED I WAS TRYING TO BE SENTIMENTAL". That tonal reflex belongs here: naked sincerity enters the room and everybody assumes a crime, announcement or emotional ambush is coming. UL can be extremely affectionate. It would simply prefer the affection to arrive wearing a fake moustache.
CHRONOLOGICAL TIME HAS NO JURISDICTION.
Remember when Rummy was sixteen? Rummy is apparently still sixteen. Mugen points out that everyone is literally six years older; Sye answers "Nah Iβm still same age". DyingFox never ages. Platelets refuse graduation. The recurring joke is not one person's age. It is collective refusal to let elapsed time alter the character sheet even while everybody is visibly accumulating jobs, marriages, school, careers, dogs and lower-back consequences.
THE HYDRATION CHECK SURVIVED THE APOCALYPSE.
Gabu's old "Drink water reminder" identity would already be enough for a character joke. The better receipt is persistence: she walks back into active Whiskey years later, gets greeted by Nobu, and eventually asks "did you drink water? '-'". Some bits need an origin story. This one apparently just needs a cup.
NOBODY GETS A NORMAL REUNION.
Nobu returns: "I'm home now uwu"; Mugen tells her to put her slippers on; Moon announces the restaurant is back in business. Rooks returns married with a dog and also happens to mention being left-handed; the room reaches "WITCH" and then "DOUBLE WITCH" almost immediately. Nelph comes back after years and gets told the circus tent is still up. Veteran re-entry is less "please review the handbook" and more "welcome home, now resume the ancient nonsense without warm-up".
THE JOKE STILL ACQUIRES INFRASTRUCTURE. IT JUST ISN'T THE ONLY JOKE.
JAG still matters: UL is "in no way a military organization" inside a document containing 24 Yeeting charges. Snipers still turn recruiting into tactical vocabulary. Party Director and Media Director still make a game friend group sound incorporated. But those are only one family of running jokes. The deeper UL habit is repetition itself: a ridiculous phrase gets remembered, reused by other people, attached to somebody's identity, or dragged across years until everybody can invoke a whole relationship with three stupid words.
SOURCE NOTES 4
Snipers are user-confirmed as an in-game junior-officer recruitment role used to grab applicants faster.
Party Director and Media Director are user-confirmed specialized UL role labels, and director status is not synonymous with officer status.
A recurring UL cultural pattern is the conversion of camp or absurd terminology into durable social infrastructure.
Interpretive pattern connecting otherwise separate confirmed systems and role labels.
