THE CRITIC BECOMES A CO-WRITER IF THE PREMISE IS STUPID ENOUGH
Pride's tea-sipping posture can make them look like somebody who prefers to watch the evidence pile up from a safe chair. August 19, 2020 gives the correction: Pride is perfectly willing to climb into the machine if the machine is dumb enough.
The room is already working with an absurd UNO-like premise when Pride starts stress-testing it. "imagine a draw four" becomes "imagine drawing 16". Then comes the nightmare branch where the card you need is the last one in the row, followed by the emotional forecast: "I am imagining the rage right now". Pride keeps going—sleep-deprived play, knocking the whole thing over on the first draw, "Uno cube", "goes from simple uno to survival", "last man standing wins", and finally "high stakes uno game".
The verbs matter. Pride is not merely laughing at somebody else's cursed object. They keep adding failure modes. Each "imagine" is another little test case until a stupid game has acquired fatigue, structural collapse, elimination rules, and a death-sport title. The person who later explains that the Wall is always watching is already showing the complementary instinct here: if a premise is funny enough, inspect it from every angle until it becomes worse.
Then criticism turns into admiration. Pride wants to meet whoever made the thing, calls the unknown creator a "new role model", says "I love who ever made this", and wants a name so they can ask to be adopted. The archive still does not know who made the underlying object or exactly what it looked like, and nobody is treating the adoption line as genealogy. It does not need either fact to catch the character beat. Give Pride sufficiently engineered nonsense and the spectator stops sipping long enough to help design the disaster.
THE WALL IS WATCHING. PRIDE WOULD LIKE IT TO KEEP WATCHING.
By October, Pride is no longer merely using the Wall. Pride understands the business model.
On October 1, after Ryan X says he talked too much in world chat, Pride explains the room in four words: "This is where everyone gets exposed". Then comes the sip. Then the orientation packet: "Get used to it my friend u will be here a lot. They are always watching". Ryan calls it "CCTV". Pride laughs.
Six days later Pride provides the sequel personally:
“and this is why Pride stays out of Club chat”
Thirty seconds later the defense develops a problem:
“y’all aight gonna have me plastered all over this place for the dumb stuff i say”
Gilli tags Pride: "im watching you". Ansun's advice is "just let yourself get exposed lol". Ren asks what Pride even did. Gilli says "nothing yet".
And Pride, having just explained why one should avoid the capture zone, answers Gilli:
“keep watching baby”
There it is. The tea-sipping spectator knows exactly what screenshot jail does, names the risk, and then turns being watched into another little dare. Not shyness. Not recklessness as a permanent personality sticker. Just a person who understands the trap well enough to joke from inside its closing jaws.
December reveals the appellate process.
One night Pride answers a fresh Wall filing with ":sip:" and, five seconds later, "i regret nothing". The next day the defense gets ambitious:
“that’s not a shame moment that’s a proud moment”
And because merely winning the classification dispute would apparently be too modest:
“Not only am i a thot i’m the best ratio of it”
Then another sip.
This is the October posture with one extra level of audacity. Pride does not simply endure the evidence machine or pretend the filing did not happen. They accept that the room has a case, reject the proposed category, and convert prosecution into advertising. The little sip after the boast is what makes it land: mock-casual punctuation after Pride has just filed an appeal, rewritten the charge, and awarded themself first place.
By December the Wall does not merely have a defendant who knows the rules. It has a defendant trying to rezone the crime scene as an achievement.
PRIDE'S BODY HAS BECOME A MUNICIPAL PROBLEM
The November callback about "we've lost Pride's body" is no longer floating by itself.
On September 7, Ren is already saying "Pride bout to kill us for bodies UwU" while posting an image. On November 4, Illien remembers repeatedly reading "we've lost Pride's body" in Club chat; Ren says she had to make an Amber Alert; Pride says "I still laugh about that day". Then on December 29 Ren announces "Let me just bring back the time pride threatened that he was gonna make us into corpses" and posts another image sixteen seconds later.
The December image is probably the receipt Ren says she is bringing back. The pixels are still sealed, which means nobody gets to invent what is in either image, who captured them, or whether September is the original incident. It is simply the earliest surviving Pride/body signal recovered so far.
What *is* clear is that by the end of 2020, Pride's body situation has somehow acquired continuity. Threatened bodies, lost body, Amber Alert, corpse callback. Whatever the original game/fake-corpse catastrophe was, UL had already turned it into municipal services.
