RETIRED OFFICERS

Kiro

Pit Boss · Retired Officer

THEIR WHOLE DEAL

Retired Pit Boss. Full Officer. Filipino jokester. Promoted under the alias HicUUOOOOGH because apparently even personnel announcements had to make a noise.

Three weeks before the Officer announcement, HicUUOOOOGH walks through the Lobby's standard role-assignment routine and Mugs greets him with "Hey gummy bear! You know the drill". Kiro loses what he was trying to copy-paste. Mugs finds it. "welcome back gummieeees". The paperwork says onboarding; the room says this clown already knows where the kitchen is.

The title catches up to a habit that is already old news. Back in 2021, Hic keeps appearing at the tiny moments where a room could lose somebody. Stella gets pulled into Main Chat HQ and he is there almost immediately. When Zhēnxī needs help finding the right place to post, Hic does not cosplay as a flawless mentor; he says "man am i bad at teaching new members things", takes Jas's correction, says "preesh", and gets Zhēnxī moving in the right direction anyway. The self-review is brutal. The actual result is useful.

When Anthos is looking for Gabu, Hic joins the search and later lets Gabu know people had been looking for them. Gabu answers "aww people lookin for me"; Hic answers with hearts. When Anayss announces "im gonna be more active now", Hic turns it into "that a challenge owo". When Zoshaa arrives, he introduces himself, gets the recognition back, then points her toward Mugs because Mugs is more active. Not a chain of command. Not an intake protocol. Just Kiro repeatedly noticing where a person might fall out of the room and tugging a thread until they are back in it.

That makes Mugen's later Officer announcement—thanking him for service and for looking after our family—feel less like a personality reveal than a title arriving after the behavior. We still do not get to invent the promotion rubric or pretend these few scenes are the complete job description. But Kiro's people-work is no longer some mysterious labor hidden behind one ceremonial sentence. He was already greeting, routing, checking for people, and creating excuses to interact before anybody put Officer next to his name.

A week after the promotion, the Wall catches the other side of him. Kiro files a screenshot under one extremely self-aware caption:

"Being petty:R_damn:"

Gilli asks the obvious operational question:

"DID YOU GET IT? :Cat_Sporkle:"

Kiro's answer is just:

"No:EmoJi_CrYiNg:"

Whatever it was stays inside the uninspected screenshot. The surviving comedy does not need the pixels anyway. Kiro has publicly labeled the operation petty, Gilli checks whether the pettiness accomplished its objective, and the defendant is forced to report a failed mission.

Six days later he is already sitting on the other side of the desk. Kiro posts another screenshot with "Seraph needs some explaining to do". Same Wall, same sealed pixels, opposite posture. Self-filer on Saturday; mock prosecutor by Friday. Apparently the shame machine is not something Kiro merely survives. It is a chair he keeps changing seats in.

A month later he posts another image with the medical bulletin "Body = deceased / Wig = still living:z_sus:". Fifteen wheeze reactions arrive. DiStratus later replies "there's a bug on your head...i love bad puns." Again, the attachment stays sealed; the room's text already tells us what kind of day everybody was having.

THE JOKE CAN HIT HIM BACK

Kiro is perfectly capable of opening the violence himself. In February 2023 Captain Atin is celebrating finally getting onto the Wall when Kiro contributes a roast so foul it does not need help from the screenshot. Atin's response is not a retreat or a fight: "No worries Kiro lol you can keep the position". Fake office created, insult accepted, scene continues.

Four days later Gilli turns the room around on Kiro: "We are keeping Kiro. He cops the crap :8_smirk:".

Nineteen seconds later Kiro answers:

":kinky: :8_lul:"

That is the important half of his roughness. He does not only know how to throw the joke. When the room makes *him* the joke, he can apparently make it worse before anybody has time to wonder whether his dignity survived. Gilli's "We are keeping Kiro" sounds affectionate precisely because the insult is doing retention work; Kiro completes the sentence by feeding it.

Nobody gets to turn two comfortable scenes into a universal permission slip. The point is smaller and much more Kiro-shaped: blunt on offense, remarkably unserious about defending himself when trusted people swing back.

THE SEND BUTTON USED TO BE A BOSS FIGHT

Kiro's later confidence is funnier once he explains what talking to people used to cost him.

In late 2022 he describes the whole tiny machinery of interaction: thinking through what to say, worrying about how it will land, getting all the way down to whether to hit Send. Then he gives away the change in one phrase. That friction matters less after getting to know "our fam".

Not biological family. Not a diagnosis. Just Kiro quietly admitting that familiarity changed the amount of armor required to speak.

Mugen becomes one of the easiest people to watch that change happen around. Hic can dump "Maintaining and distributing logistic services in wigs and edges😍😍😘💅" into the room and Mugen simply hands him the job title "Designated slayyyer". Hic answers "Yaass henneyyy". Nobody requests clarification from the Department of Wigs.

A few months later Hic posts one word: "Nuts". Mugen replies "you". Hours later Hic comes back with "Me" and Mugen answers with hearts. Then Hic writes a full character essay and Mugen meets the opposite extreme with "A full ass essay and I'm here for it". Hic's response is that he will write for his girls, just not for schoolwork.

That is the Send-button arc with an actual person standing on the other side of it. Kiro can send one word or the entire fucking essay; Mugen catches both without making him translate himself into a safer register first. It does not mean she single-handedly caused his broader comfort, and the surrounding sex-joke vocabulary is not a relationship-status machine. It means that by 2023, with Mugen specifically, the old need to sand every message down before sending is very hard to see.

By 2023 the result is visible enough that he can call himself "elegantly deranged" with no apparent concern that anybody needs a translation. The phrasing is perfect Kiro: even the derangement gets an adverb and good posture. The person who once describes interaction as something to over-process is now comfortable enough to hand the room a self-review that sounds like a perfume category.

Then the participation drops. Kiro later calls himself a "corpse for a whole year"—his phrase, his exaggeration, not a medical bulletin or an audited stopwatch. The important part is what comes after it. He still describes UL as welcoming and special, calls it "a never ending party", and talks about wanting to get back into the server.

That makes his inactivity less useful as an absence statistic than as a relationship beat. Kiro can go quiet long enough to joke that he has become a corpse and still narrate the room as somewhere continuing without him, somewhere he knows the social temperature of, somewhere re-entry is desirable rather than embarrassing. The belonging survives a period when his posting does not.

Six months earlier Daya had already pointed at the same account and asked whether that was Kiro. Kiro answered "N-n-n-no..", then "Who's kiro". Momo said "Yeppers". Daya said she could not keep track anymore. Kiro joined the crying reaction pile. By then the identity confusion is not evidence against the file. It is part of the performance. Kiro knows exactly who Kiro is and still makes Records work for it.

Two days later Sou gives the whole mechanism a peer review instead of another identity check: "Hi kiro if you see this i love you youre so unserious". The "i love you" does not need promotion into a relationship status to matter. What makes the line useful is that Sou is not confused by Kiro's refusal to answer a straight question straight. She recognizes the act well enough to name it affectionately. Kiro can be self-filer, mock prosecutor, and evasive witness because the people around him already know the common denominator: this man will make the answer less efficient if making it stupid is available.

By the 2026 reunion, adulthood has provided real nursing talk but apparently no cure. Mugs asks what he has been up to. "still hoeing around :3". Minutes later UL Nursing Society has been put on an IV pole.

The rank correction stays simple: full Officer, historical Pit Boss / Minister, never a Sniper. The person is more useful than the correction—the returning gummy bear who was already doing people-work before the title, once had to think his way all the way to the Send button, got comfortable enough to become elegantly deranged in public, could go quiet without turning the room into a stranger again, gets trusted with office, labels his own Wall operation petty, reports that it failed, prosecutes somebody else six days later, and still refuses to make the filing system easy.

Mugs-confirmed identity mapping

Across spring and summer 2021, before his later Officer announcement, Hic/Kiro repeatedly did low-key social routing: greeting and pulling people into active rooms, correcting a newcomer's channel after openly admitting he was bad at teaching, helping look for Gabu, prodding Anayss's return to activity, and handing Zoshaa toward Mugen because Mugen was more active.

On September 8, 2022, Mugen greeted HicUUOOOOGH in the Lobby with `Hey gummy bear! You know the drill` and later `welcome back gummieeees`, confirming that this was a familiar return rather than a first introduction.

On October 1, 2022, Mugen announced HicUUOOOOGH as Underlords' newest Officer and thanked him for his service and for looking after the family.

Across late 2022 and 2023, Kiro described ordinary interaction as something he used to overthink down to the Send button, said that became less relevant once he knew `our fam`, later called himself `elegantly deranged`, and after describing himself as a `corpse for a whole year` still called UL welcoming, special, and `a never ending party` while saying he wanted to get back into the server.

On October 8, 2022, Kiro posted a Wall screenshot captioned `Being petty`; Gilli true-replied `DID YOU GET IT?`, and Kiro answered `No` with a crying emoji.

Six days after his `Being petty` self-file, Kiro posted another Wall screenshot captioned `Seraph needs some explaining to do`, showing him switching from defendant/self-filer to mock prosecutor without leaving the same evidence economy. On April 4, 2023, after a separate identity-denial bit, Sou addressed him with `Hi kiro if you see this i love you youre so unserious`.

On November 17, 2022, Kiro posted another Wall image captioned `Body = deceased / Wig = still living:z_sus:`; the post drew fifteen `Fat_Wheeze` reactions, and DiStratus later true-replied `there's a bug on your head...i love bad puns.`

On April 2, 2023, Daya identified @HicUUOOOOGH as Kiro in the Wall; Kiro mock-denied it and then asked `Who's kiro` while Momo confirmed the identification.
