On May 10, 2021, Rummy posted `I have lightmode on my alt` to the Wall; about four minutes later Sorceress replied `LOL LIGHT MODE`.
LIGHT
MODE.
Apparently the crime was opening Discord and choosing to see.
RUMMY CONFESSES
May 10, 2021: Rummy walks into the Wall and files the evidence personally โI have lightmode on my alt. No elaborate setup. No victim. No screenshot required for the surviving text to work. Four minutes later Sorceress arrives with the entire prosecution: LOL LIGHT MODE.
That tiny exchange is the useful part. The UI setting itself had become enough of an offense to understand on sight. Rummy does not explain why this belongs on the Wall because apparently everybody involved already knows the charge sheet.
BY JULY, THE SCREEN IS A THREAT
On July 1, another Wall participant โ preserved only under the export's pooledDeleted User label โ writes Mon is going to kill be cuz I have light mode, followed by O.o. Same stupid little brightness setting, now phrased as pre-emptive social liability.
We are not assigning that deleted account to a person. We are also not pretending these are the first light-mode jokes UL ever made. What survives is cleaner and funnier anyway: by mid-2021, admitting your interface was bright could qualify as its own Wall confession.
THE WALL COULD PROSECUTE A SETTING
This is exactly the kind of microscopic nonsense the Wall was built to metabolize. Shame did not need scandal. Sometimes it needed one toggle in Discord settings and somebody else noticing. The room's social grammar was strong enough thatlight mode could arrive without context and still get treated like evidence.
On July 1, 2021, an exported Deleted User participant wrote `Mon is going to kill be cuz I have light mode` in the Wall.
The surviving messages support light mode as a Wall-worthy UI taboo by mid-2021; they do not establish who started the joke or whether every later light-mode joke descended from these exact posts.
