The raw Lobby archive routes newcomers to `#ul-discord-tour` as a `server map` by August 19, 2020.
π« UL DISCORD TOUR
the building got complicated. somebody made directions.
THE SERVER NEEDED A FLOOR PLAN.
At some point `just look around` stopped being a humane onboarding strategy.
AUGUST 16, 2020 β IF YOU GET LOST, THERE'S A TOUR
Before the Tour's earliest recovered use, Lobby already shows the manual version of wayfinding: on May 17 a newcomer is told what Whiskey, Slice, Louvre and grind bl are for. On August 16, Mugs announces Discord changes "to simplify things" and says anybody who gets lost should visit "#π«ο½ul-discord-tour"; on August 19, Lobby makes the function explicit with "Role assigned - server map here". The safe claim is operational: **the Tour is already working by August 16, 2020.** May is the manual precursor, not the Tour's creation date.
THE MAP TOOK THE SHIFT
Once the route existed, orientation stopped living in one greeter's head. Whoever was working the front desk could hand a newcomer toward the same rooms without rebuilding the server from memory. The Tour is care turned into infrastructure because, eventually, vibes were no longer a humane navigation system.
SOURCE NOTES 6
The recovered dedicated UL Discord Tour export contains 39 messages spanning June 6, 2021 through March 12, 2022; this is the surviving transcript window, not the Tour's launch date.
On August 4, 2021, the Lobby describes the Tour as a guide so newcomers do not get lost.
By 2022, repeated Lobby welcome scripts route newcomers through Club Rules, the Discord Tour, Biodata, and the main chat after role assignment.
By 2024, the standard welcome script calls the Discord Tour the `server index` while pairing it with Platelet safety guidance, Biodata, and Whiskey Room.
A complete stop-by-stop reconstruction of every historical Tour version remains unresolved; Lobby cross-references establish function and chronology without supplying every itinerary revision.
